The Worlds Most Overprotective Father

Sunday, 17 April 2011 Leave a Comment

We all know Dad's are more than a little overprotective when it comes to their daughters dating, they rarely approve of the guy you're seeing, but if you're thinking, "Yeah my Dad was the worst!"
Think again!
For those of you who have never watched 10 Things I hate about you (seriously if you haven't seen this film you're "without") meet Walter Stratford the worlds most overprotective parent.
Walter Stratford takes overprotective parenting to a whole new level. His idea of healthy dating is not to date at all. His daughters Kat and Bianca are forced to live a strictly veggie dating life (and by veggie i mean no man sausaaage allowed).
Scene A: Bianca wants to go to a party
Bianca: Hi Daddy!
Walter Stratford: Hi... where're we going?
Bianca: Well, if you must know... a small study group of friends.
Walter Stratford: Otherwise known as an orgy?
Chastity: Mr. Stratford, it's just a party!
Walter Stratford: And hell is just a sauna.
Scene B: The pregnancy belly
So Walter gives in and decides to let them go out, just to make sure his daughters aren't out being impregnated by hairy bikers full of sperm, he gets out the belly...

Walter Stratford: I want you to wear the belly.
Bianca: Daddy, no!
So if you think your Father gives you a hard time, it could be worse, you could have a Dad like Walter Stratford and besides he's just trying to look after you.

@sassyshoediary Cut but slightly paranoid! He did make me laugh in that film.

I love the guy who plays Walter Stratford, so I was willing to overlook his overprotective antics in the film. But then again, if he was my dad, I wouldn't be so forgiving. :)

It should be noted he was an ob/gyn in the movie and saw young girls who got knocked up all the time which is one of the reasons he was so overprotective, but yes, he was very overprotective. :)

Everytime I see that one girl, I think of Nickelodeon's "The Secret World of Alex Mack" show. I used to love it.

I wanted to stop by and give you an award. Let me know if you'll accept! :)

    Dear Alice,

i love this movie.. and yeah, he's so funny!

I guess the movie's exaggeration is also trying to point out something to dad's

but sadly, not all dads are gladly accepting any suggestions when it comes to raising their daughters! :))

    xx,
    Toni

@Toni Rose I think all Dad's are little overprotective of their daughters. Bless them!
