Brotox: Plastic surgery for men

Friday, 25 May 2012 Leave a Comment

These days it's not uncommon for people to 'go under the knife'. Plastic surgery is going mainstream: Botox, fillers, implants, nips and tucks, you name it! People are more willing than ever to alter what nature gave them in the name of beauty. And it's no longer a woman's domain, ever growing numbers of men are opting to undergo cosmetic procedures, especially Botox.

Botox is an injection of botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes the muscles and allows the skin to appear smoother. Like any cosmetic procedure, it does carry risks, but despite this it has become one of the more common cosmetic procedures on offer.

From this...

...to this.

Botox, or should i say Brotox, the Botox for men, is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures around and today. Middle aged men are parting with their cash, in return for what they hope is a younger, fresher looking face.

Many male celebrities, such as Cliff Richard and Simon Cowell have plumped for Botox to rewind the years and although it's quite common amongst celebrities, it's also become more common for the average Joe. Plastic surgery for men is on the rise and it's no longer confined to Hollywood, with men wanting to reduce smile lines, crows feet and erase the effects that stress and lack of sleep have had on their appearance.

What do you think about this procedure? Have you tried it? What would you think if your man wanted Botox, would you support him in his decision or cringe at the thought?

Whatever your views, anyone considering cosmetic surgery of any kind should do their research and be fully aware of the risks involved before hand.

If I was with a guy who got Botox, I'd be afraid that he'd end up looking like Bruce Jenner or something. Eeps! But I guess if people want to get it, it's their choice. I don't think I could get it for myself, though, because I'm too worried about all the complications and risks that are associated with cosmetic surgery.

Simon Cowell looks like Alan Thicke in that before photo. Anyhoo, I'm not down with anyone using botox. I'm afraid of the long term effects. I've seen too many leathery, tight faces to know that it will eventually turn a natural-looking person into a Coach purse.
